My Overdue Embarrasment
Alright, I'm gonna break it down for ya. Its 2:00 am. I have a paper due in 11 hours, which is perfectly fine as I only need to tack on a conclusion. So what am I doing awake? Ohh Family Guy, the things you do to me. I'm not tired in any sense of the word, have eaten a pound of chicken lo mein and one cup of chocolate jello pudding. I'm wired for the night. So now here is where my blogging begins...
Up until now, I have never had an embarassing story. I have had more sympathetic stories like my parents getting divorced, my brother throwing a roller skate at my head, or being tone deaf. But, Friday night the stars were aligned for me. The Polar Express was playing at the ultimate 3-D IMAX experience. I went with a bunch of Christians that I met through a organization on campus. Little did I know, I would leave the mall with a bleeding toe and the most embarassing moment in my life. We went down a flight of stairs to exit the mall, and I was leading the pack. I motioned toward the next down escalator to get to the ground floor. Oh was that a mistake. Four steps down the escalator, the group cries out behind me I'm going the wrong way. My childhood experiences of running up the down escalators became very real. I jumped up the escalator hopping from step to step. And boom, my footing slips, my sandal gets caught somewhere between the metallic ridges of two steps (as did some of my toe nail), and I stumbled to fall flat on my face at the top of the escalator. The phrase "don't worry no one saw that" hardly applies here. The entire theater was leaving and watching my episode (I think some were eating popcorn too) along with my group of friends. So when you ask me why I'll stand at the top of an escalator with the upmost apprehension, its simply because I'd rather take the stairs.
